Barcelona and Manchester United have something in common: their performances and results in the 2023/24 season have disappointed fans. The Catalan side are in fourth place in the La Liga standings and lost the 'Clasico' against Real Madrid, although they at least advanced to the Champions League round of 16. The English are even worse, as they are also far from the top in the Premier League, were eliminated in the Carabao Cup and will probably do the same in the Champions League.

With this scenario, both clubs are starting to plan what they will do in the next transfer window. Although in January there are not many signings that clubs usually make, the opportunity to add some players may be tempting to solve some team problems.

Manchester United intend to get rid of several players. The main one is Jadon Sancho, who has not played since August due to a quarrel with Erik Ten Hag. It is a fact that he will not return to the field as long as the Dutch coach is there, so his future must be in another club. And Barcelona could be his destination.

According to Sport newspaper, Sancho was offered to the Catalan side. And not only that. He could also arrive without the need for them to pay money, a huge advantage considering the serious financial problems they have had in recent years. The solution is an exchange for a Barcelona forward: Raphinha.

Is it possible?

Although Raphinha has had a lot of participation in the team this season, his performances were not satisfactory. That is why the club may agree to let him go and try to find solutions with Jadon Sancho. As for the value of each, there are no big differences: Manchester United paid Sancho $90 million in 2021, while Raphinha cost Barcelona $70 million in 2022.
