For 10 years David De Gea was the goalkeeper of Manchester United. He arrived there in 2012 from Atlético Madrid and quickly earned a place in the team, which that season won the Premier League title for the last time. After a decade of being a star of the squad, this summer coach Erik Ten Hag explained to him that he was not a priority for him and that he was going to ask the chiefs to sign another goalkeeper.

So De Gea decided to leave England. But the weeks went by and no convincing offer reached him. Reports indicated that he rejected negotiations with Saudi Arabian clubs and that he had talks with Bayern Munich that finally did not work out, so he finally stayed as a free agent and during this semester he did not play for any club.

Now that the winter transfer window is approaching, rumors about the future of the Spanish goalkeeper have started to appear again. According to The Sun, he received a multi-million dollar offer from Al-Nassr, the team where his former Manchester United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo plays. The salary they offered him is impressive: £500,000 a week ($32 million per year).

However, his response was negative, as reports indicate that his wife, Edurne, has no interest in living in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, he is now analyzing other alternatives, such as Real Betis and Valencia in Spain, or Inter Miami in Major League Soccer.

He could be one of the best paid players in the world

In case of accepting Al-Nassr's offer, David De Gea could become one of the highest paid players in the world. Pro League clubs are not cash-strapped and in recent months have offered multi-million dollar salaries to stars. Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, for example, earn $200 million per year. This dwarfs Lionel Messi, who at Inter Miami makes $54 million per season.
