Al-Nassr have a clear objective on Monday: to beat Al-Shabab in the quarterfinals of the Saudi Arabian King's Cup and qualify for the semifinals, where they will face the winner of the match between Al-Ittihad and Al-Faisaly. In doing so, they will move closer to the title, as they are only three games away from achieving it.

That seems to be a much more possible objective than the Pro League, in which they are showing great performances but not enough to match Al-Hilal, who are the leaders of the standings with 44 points, 7 more than Cristiano Ronaldo's team. In fact, just a few weeks ago, they played against each other and Neymar Junior's team won 3-0.

That is why coach Luis Castro decided to include most of the squad's stars in the starting lineup this Monday. And that is paying off, as at the end of the first half they are getting an important 3-1 victory that for now is enough to reach the semifinals of the King's Cup.

The opener was scored by Seko Fofana 17 minutes into the first half, when he picked up a rebound inside the box after Sadio Mane's shot was saved by the goalkeeper and shot with his right foot. However, Carlos Carvalho netted the equaliser a few minutes later with a header after a corner kick. But that joy was short-lived for Al-Shabab, as moments later Sadio Mane received a drilled cross and scored the second goal. And near the end Ghareeb increased the lead.

They were lucky too

While Al-Nassr proved superior to their opponents, they struggled at the start of the match. In fact, when they were still 0-0 Al-Shabab had a chance to score the opener with a penalty. Yannick Carrasco took the kick, but as he was approaching the ball he slipped, kicked with both feet and his shot was flawed, going over the crossbar.
