Granada and Barcelona were the protagonists of one of the most exciting matches of the season. They drew 2-2 at the Nuevo Estadio de los Carmenes, a result that left neither team satisfied. But above all the Catalan side lamented the two points they lost, as this weekend Real Madrid beat Osasuna 4-0 and moved further ahead of them in La Liga standings.
Things started badly for Los Culés, as after 16 seconds they were 1-0 down through a goal by Bryan Zaragoza, who received a pass from Lucas Boyé after a mistake by Gavi and netted the opener with a strong right-footed shot. And in the 29th minute the hosts doubled the lead through Zaragoza. The Spanish forward made a beautiful play inside the box, fooled Jules Koundé and goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen and scored the second goal.
Barcelona's reaction started in the last minute of the first half, when Joao Felix assisted Lamine Yamal and the winger netted his first La Liga goal, becoming the youngest player ever to do so.
After the break, Xavi Hernandez's team became dominant on the ball and the pitch, and created many dangerous chances, but lacked accuracy to score. Until 40 minutes into the second half when Alejandro Balde sent a drilled cross that Sergi Roberto connected inside the box to score the equaliser. Moments later Granada came close to the third goal, with Zaragoza's shot hitting the post.
Barcelona also had a chance to grab the winner in the last minute, when Joao Felix headed in the third goal. But referee Cesar Soto Grado ruled it out with the assistance of the VAR for a questionable passive offside by Ferran Torres, something that caused the Catalan side's anger.
