The Spanish giants clashed this Sunday in Montjuic, with Barcelona's victory 1-0.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have competed many times in recent years for the La Liga title. While many coaches have passed through the Catalan side in that time, at Los Colchoneros there has always been Diego Simeone. The Argentine manager is a legend at the club and since his arrival more than a decade ago, he has turned them into one of the most important teams in Europe.

Simeone is famous for his personality, being very passionate about soccer and very demanding and meticulous with his assistants and the players in the squad. In addition, he lives with great intensity every match and that sometimes leads him to star in curious situations on the bench.

Last Sunday was no exception. Atlético Madrid visited Barcelona in Montjuic, in a key match for the objectives of both teams, as they had the same number of points and needed a victory to get closer to the leaders Girona and Real Madrid. In the end it was Los Blaugranas who celebrated, thanks to a beautiful goal by Joao Felix during the first half.

However, one of the most interesting situations of the match happened off the field. The cameras of the Movistar+ TV show 'El Día Después' captured the moment when coaches Xavi Hernández and Diego Simeone had an argument. Both approached an official to complain about a referee's decision and the Atlético Madrid coach said: "You has to book him or he doesn't shut up", and then added: "This man won't shut up". Xavi took it with humor and laughed, so nothing serious happened between them.

Now they can rest

With the 1-0 win, Barcelona are in third place in the standings with 34 points, 4 points off the top. Atlético Madrid have 31, but have played one game less. This week both teams will be able to rest, as there will be no Champions League matches. Next Sunday Los Colchoneros will face Almeria and Los Blaugranas will have a key match against Girona.
