Many things will change at Manchester United in the near future. This week Sir Jim Ratcliffe's purchase of 25% of the club for more than $1.3 billion was confirmed and with it will come a major renovation. First it will be the stadium, as Old Trafford is in need of refurbishment and more than $380 million will be spent to improve it.

And then the same will happen with the squad. The new owner will be in charge of making soccer-related decisions and it is likely that many things will change from now on. The future of coach Erik Ten Hag is not assured (in fact it is rumored that Graham Potter could replace him), but it is certain that many players will leave and many others will arrive.

One of the sectors of the field where there will be more changes is the midfield. Donny Van De Beek will leave on loan in January to Eintracht Frankfurt with a $16 million option to buy. In addition, Casemiro has offers from Saudi Arabia and could leave, while Sofyan Amrabat is on loan from Fiorentina and will likely return there at the end of the season.

That is why The Red Devils are targeting top players to replace them. According to The Sun, the chosen one is Joshua Kimmich. The Bayern Munich midfielder is a star of the team and was a key player in the 2020 Champions League title, but his future there does not seem certain. In fact, his contract expires on June 30, 2025 and so far there has been no progress on his renewal.

They are not the only ones interested

According to The Sun, Manchester United chiefs are interested in Kimmich and could make an offer for him next summer. And Bayern Munich will have reason to accept it, otherwise he could leave as a free agent a year later. But the Red Devils will have to compete against other teams that also want him, such as Barcelona, Manchester City and Liverpool.
