Since Wednesday, Randal Kolo Muani had been absent from Eintracht Frankfurt's training sessions and had traveled to Paris, waiting for the German side to reach an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain to sell him. The negotiation was not easy, as they were looking to receive more than $100 million for him and had rejected the first two offers.

However, this Friday the parties finally agreed on the transfer for $75 million plus $15 million more if certain objectives were achieved. In other words, the total value of the operation could reach $90 million. Everything seemed ready for the striker to join PSG, and he had even undergone medical examinations in Paris. But something unexpected happened and the deal fell through.

Eintracht Frankfurt had agreed to sell Kolo Muani on the condition that, before doing so, they would get a striker to replace him. The target was, coincidentally, a PSG player: Hugo Ekitike. The 21-year-old French player does not have much of a place in the Parisian side and has only played one game this season.

But Ekitike surprisingly rejected the German club's offer as his desire is to play in the Premier League. This caused Eintracht Frankfurt to back out of the negotiation for Kolo Muani, considering that they do not have enough time to sign another striker before the transfer window closes this Friday night, September 1.

Luis Enrique will have to stick with what he has

With the arrival of Kolo Muani now very complicated, the Paris Saint-Germain coach will not be able to add the striker he wanted. So now he will have to face the first half of the season with the players he already has in the squad. However, they are not few: Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, Marco Asensio, Goncalo Ramos and Bradley Barcola. And maybe also Hugo Ekitike, if he does not leave during this Friday.
