The Reds beat Aston Villa and the winger achieved an impressive record.

Liverpool got their third win in a row in the Premier League 2023/24 and are in second place in the standings with 10 points, only 2 points behind leaders Manchester City. This Sunday they beat Aston Villa 3-0 at Anfield Road and showed a great performance throughout the match, being clearly superior to their opponents and leaving the fans satisfied.

Things went well for The Reds from the start, as after 3 minutes Dominik Szoboszlai netted the opener after a corner kick from the right. The ball was left outside the box and the Hungarian midfielder shot with his left foot to beat the resistance of goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

And a few minutes later they extended the lead, when Trent Alexander-Arnold sent a wonderful lofted ball to Mohamed Salah, who sent it to Darwin Nuñez. The Uruguayan player shot, the ball hit the post and defender Matthew Cash was unlucky and could not prevent the own goal.

The final goal came 10 minutes into the second half, when Andrew Robertson took a corner kick from the right that found the head of Nunez. The striker missed the target, but assisted to Mohamed Salah, who arrived behind everyone and pushed the ball into the net. The 3-0 result was an impossible result to reverse for Aston Villa and Liverpool were left with a very important victory to follow Manchester City closely. Next matchday, after the international break, they will play against Wolverhampton.

They doubted him, he proved them wrong

Mohamed Salah has been the subject of countless rumors in recent days. Al-Ittihad want to sign him and offered Liverpool a fortune for him, but the chiefs turned down the bid. Many questioned his commitment to the team and accused him of "flirting" with Al-Ittihad. However, with his goal against Aston Villa, 'Mo' achieved something historic: he has scored or assisted in each of the last 11 Premier League games at Anfield Road. The last player to achieve something similar was Thierry Henry with Arsenal, between 2002 and 2003.
