Paris Saint-Germain have a completely different squad from the one that played in the 2022/23 season. Not only did the coach change, as Luis Enrique replaced Christophe Galtier, but many players left and others arrived this summer. This is especially evident in the attack, where Lionel Messi and Neymar are no longer there. Ousmane Dembélé, Goncalo Ramos and Marco Asensio were hired in their places.
And they will not be the only ones. The manager considers that it is not enough with them, in addition to Kylian Mbappé, and therefore has requested the arrival of a winger and a center-forward. Bradley Barcola, Olympique Lyonnais player, and Randal Kolo Muani, from Eintracht Frankfurt, are Luis Enrique's favorites. But negotiations are not easy, as the French side and the German club will not let them leave for little money.
That's why Nasser Al-Khelaifi has a plan that could make things easier. According to Marca, Hugo Ekitiké was targeted by several teams in Europe and could be transferred this summer. Among the clubs interested are, precisely, Olympique Lyonnais and Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as West Ham United and AC Milan. If the information of the Spanish newspaper is confirmed, PSG could include the striker in the negotiation and thus reach an agreement to sign Barcola or Kolo Muani.
Ekitiké is only 21 years old, but he has been playing at the highest level for more than 3 years. He made his debut in 2020 at Stade Reims, then he was loaned to Vejle Boldklub in Denmark and in 2022 Paris Saint-Germain signed him on loan with an option to buy. During the 2022/23 season he played 32 games, scored 4 goals and provided 4 assists. However, he is not now a priority for Luis Enrique.
While PSG have plenty of strikers in the squad, they still want to add two more. This is interpreted by some as a hint that Kylian Mbappé, sooner or later, will leave for Real Madrid. That is why Al-Khelaifi is already looking for replacements.
