Sergio Ramos was for more than 15 years one of the best center-backs in the world. He shone with Real Madrid and the Spanish national team. There he won the most important soccer titles, such as Champions League, Euro and World Cup, earned the respect of his colleagues and the admiration of the fans. However, his career began to decline in 2021, when he did not agree to renew his contract at La Casa Blanca and went to Paris Saint-Germain.

After two years of poor performances, Ramos left France as a free agent and tried to return to his first club, Sevilla. There he played 50 games between 2003 and 2006. But unexpectedly, the side's chiefs turned him down. In fact, sporting director Víctor Orta said: "Sevilla already has six centre-backs, and in the club's model of regeneration, of looking for players with added value and looking for a transfer model, there is currently no possibility of Sergio Ramos playing for Sevilla".

However, now that plan seems to have changed. According to newspaper As, the Spanish side are interested in signing Clement Lenglet. The Barcelona defender is not a priority for coach Xavi Hernandez and intends to leave this summer. That is why Sevilla aimed to sign him, considering that he already played there between 2017 and 2018 and left a good memory.

The problem is that this contradicts Orta's words. Not only because they are finally going to look for another center-back, but also because Lenglet, like Ramos, has no surplus value and does not fit in Sevilla's transfer model.

Where will he play?

Sergio Ramos has turned down offers from Major League Soccer, Brazil and Argentina, but he still has other alternatives. Galatasaray of Turkey want to sign him and have been negotiating with him for weeks, while there are also Saudi Arabian clubs interested in him.
