Sergio Aguero was for 15 years one of the best strikers in the world. At the age of 15 he made his debut at Independiente, becoming the youngest player in the history of the Argentine league, surpassing Diego Armando Maradona's record. And then he shone in Europe with Atlético Madrid and Manchester City, until he had to retire in Barcelona due to heart problems when he was only 33 years old.

He was also a star of the Argentine National Team, with which he won the U-20 World Cup in Canada 2007, the gold medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and the Copa America 2021. There he became friends with Lionel Messi and was teammate of other top players such as Javier Mascherano, Carlos Tevez, Gonzalo Higuain and Angel Di Maria. However, with the latter he may be in trouble now.

In an interview with Charla Podcast, Filipe Luis revealed a story that leaves Aguero in a bad way. The former Brazilian defender, recently retired at the age of 38, was asked about his regrets during his professional career and shocked the world with an unexpected confession.

"If there is something I regret having done, and I would like to go back in time and not do it again, it was against Angel Di Maria," he began. And then he added: "I arrived at Atletico Madrid and we were going to play against Real Madrid . Kun Agüero told me: 'Filipe, if you get close to him, he will miss, he will leave the game. At the first opportunity, talk to him about his wife'. And I got to Di María and said something about his wife. I cursed him, I pronounced his wife's name.... And there he looked at me, he was crestfallen, I beat him the whole game. And he really didn't have a good performance."

The plan worked

That match, in November 2010, was won 2-0 by Real Madrid, but at least Filipe Luis was able to nullify the virtues of his opponent. However, he was not proud: "I got home and regretted it so much. Di María... a thousand apologies, my friend, sorry for doing that to you," he said in the interview.
