The Spanish coach wants to know everything the squad's stars do.

It was a strange week at Paris Saint-Germain. They achieved the first objective of the 2023/24 season: to qualify for the round of 16 of the Champions League. But that wasn't enough for everyone to be satisfied. The 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund allowed them to advance to the next stage of the tournament, but they did so as runners-up in Group F.

A win in Germany would have allowed them to top the group and have an easier match in the round of 16. That's why Kylian Mbappé was upset after the match, as coach Luis Enrique ordered the players to slow down the pace during the last minutes and settle for a draw.

'Kiki's' reaction showed that things are not perfectly at PSG. The coach is famous for his obsession with discipline and that can sometimes cause discomfort in the squad. In fact, when he started working at the club, he required all players to sign a paper promising to comply with training schedules.

But that was not enough. According to L'Equipe, Luis Enrique went even further and entrusted a club employee with an absurd mission: to keep an eye on the main night clubs in Paris to find out if the squad's players go out partying at night. And he also tried to monitor the use of social media by the players and their family and friends, to prevent that from interfering with training and the team's performance during the season.

Things have worked out quite well

Despite these unusual decisions, Luis Enrique's first few months at Paris Saint-Germain have been positive. The team achieved its first objective, which was to qualify for the round of 16 of the Champions League, while in Ligue 1 they are the sole leaders of the standings with 36 points, 4 more than Nice.
