Paris Saint-Germain will have a very different team in the 2023/24 season than the one that played the last few seasons. Failures in the 2022 and 2023 Champions League have provoked the anger of the fans and the displeasure of the club's chiefs, who decided to sack several of the stars they had. Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos were the first, while Kylian Mbappé could follow suit.

But they are not the only ones. Reports indicate that the new coach, Luis Enrique, does not trust goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who arrived as a star from AC Milan but has disappointed everyone with his performances. In fact, he made mistakes in the defeats against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich that cost the team a lot. That is why Spanish player Arnau Tenas has been hired to compete with him.

And now another PSG star is close to leaving. He is Marco Verratti, the Italian midfielder who has been shining at the club for more than a decade, even becoming a skipper during the last few seasons. However, the tension he has experienced during this time in Paris and the departure of players with whom he had a great relationship have made him analyze the possibility of leaving.

Barcelona and Atlético Madrid tried to sign him, but did not give up because of his high salary. But now two Saudi Arabian clubs have appeared who are willing to pay a fortune for him. Al-Hilal made an offer of $30 million that PSG rejected, as they are looking for at least $50 million. And as reported by Marca, Al-Ahli joined the competition and could make a multi-million offer in the coming hours.

The player's desire

According to Marca, Marco Verratti prefers to play for Al-Hilal. All that remains is for the Pro League side to make an offer that satisfies PSG. If the sale is agreed, the Italian midfielder will be teamed up with Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Malcom.
