For weeks now, everyone has wanted to know where Kylian Mbappé will play next season. After announcing that he will not renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain which expires in 2024, rumors and speculations of all kinds flooded the media and social networks. Meanwhile, there are several clubs competing to keep 'Kiki'.
The first is PSG, which still has a contract with him for one more year and, if a convincing offer does not arrive, will have him on the pitch to try to win Ligue 1 and the Champions League. The other favorites to sign him are Liverpool, who are willing to pay more than $200 million, and Real Madrid, who will seek to access a credit line and sell a player to raise the necessary money.
However, what no one expected is that Mbappé is interested in another team in Europe: Chelsea. The French striker will be keeping a close eye on what the Blues do during the 2023/24 season, as his friend and former teammate Christopher Nkunku will be playing there.
The player arrived in London in this transfer window for $60 million from RB Leipzig and posted a photo on his Instagram account showing him training, with the message "First session with the lads". One of the first to comment on the post was Mbappé, who replied, "I'm going to get my popcorn." This caught everyone's attention and aroused the illusion of Chelsea fans that perhaps the PSG star could join, although it really seems difficult.
With the sides of Europe starting the preseason, 'Kiki' has less and less time to decide. Although for now he is still a PSG player and will have to train under the orders of coach Luis Enrique, it is most likely that he will eventually go to Real Madrid. In fact, Los Merengues still have the number 9 jersey reserved.
