David De Gea left Manchester United this summer after his contract expired and ended a successful 12-year spell in England, during which he won 8 titles, including a Premier League and a UEFA Europa League. Following his departure, coach Erik Ten Hag turned his attention to André Onana, for whom the Red Devils paid more than $55 million to Inter.

Already a free agent, the Spanish goalkeeper could negotiate with any club wishing to sign him. Bayern Munich were close to reaching an agreement with him, but chose Daniel Peretz instead. And Real Madrid were also rumored to consider him as a possible replacement for the injured Thibaut Courtois, but finally preferred Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Weeks went by and last Friday the transfer window closed in Europe's top leagues. This means that De Gea lost the opportunity to join an important team in the continent and will have to look for other alternatives.

With this scenario, all roads lead to one destination: Saudi Arabia. It has been rumored for months that several Pro League teams are interested in him. But so far De Gea has not advanced in negotiations with any of them, perhaps waiting for a satisfactory offer from another league. But now that there is not much time left (the transfer window in Saudi Arabia closes on September 7), Marca newspaper reports that he could arrive at Al-Nassr.

Another star for the team

Should the signing of David De Gea be agreed, Al-Nassr will have a team full of top players. The goalkeeper's new teammates would be centre-back Aymeric Laporte, left-back Alex Telles, holding midfielder Marcelo Brozovic and forwards Otavio, Sadio Mane and Seko Fofana. And, obviously, Cristiano Ronaldo, the team's big star and the player who led the way for the Pro League's growth.
