Real Madrid will continue to lead the La Liga standings for at least one more week. This Saturday they got a great win at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium 2-1 against Getafe, after having started losing in the first minutes and suffering bad fortune in several shots that crashed against the posts.

After 11 minutes, Fran García gave a bad pass to David Alaba and allowed Borja Mayoral to take the ball, dribble past goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and score the opener. From then on, Los Merengues were the protagonists and did everything they could to change the score. However, they went into the break down 1-0.

At the start of the second half, Joselu scored after a confusing play in which both teams claimed handball before the ball was left inside the box for the Spanish striker to score the equaliser. And in the following minutes Dani Carvajal and Toni Kross almost netted, but their shots crashed against the posts.

With stoppage time already played, Lucas Vazquez shot from outside the box, goalkeeper David Soria, who had shone throughout the match with several impressive saves, dropped the ball and this was taken advantage of by Jude Bellingham, who was alert, captured the rebound and scored with a soft right-footed shot.

Carlo was right

Throughout the summer, Carlo Ancelotti was asked if he was concerned about the lack of a striker. Karim Benzema left for Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia and Kylian Mbappé finally stayed at Paris Saint-Germain, so for many there was a deficit in that sector of the field. However, the coach assured that he was satisfied with the squad and that he had enough alternatives to replace Benzema. And he was right. Jude Bellingham has scored in every Real Madrid game this season, while on Saturday Joselu netted for the first time since his arrival from Espanyol.
