Jurgen Klopp is admired and respected by Liverpool fans. Since his arrival at the club in 2016, he quickly managed to give the team his own style and the results have been very good. In fact, he led The Reds to their first Premier League title in the 2019/20 season, something the English club had been seeking for decades. They also won the 2018/19 Champions League title and reached two other finals, in which they lost to Real Madrid.

This earned Klopp a place among the most important coaches in the world. His name is even mentioned every time a top club or national team is looking for a new manager, as everyone trusts his knowledge and experience.

That is why the words of Liverpool midfielder Alexis MacAllister were unexpected. In an interview with LFCTV, the Argentine player revealed that he had trouble concentrating on what the coach was saying before Saturday's game and was close to falling asleep: "We were in a meeting talking about Man City and the way we wanted to play, and I couldn't keep my eyes open".

However, there is an explanation for this. MacAllister was talking about how difficult it is for South American players to play for their respective national teams every international break, then fly back to Europe and in just a few days play for their club again. "It's very tough; jet lag, long trip. But it is what it is. We like playing football, it's what we want. We want to win and that's why we did our best," he added.

They have no time to rest

This week Liverpool have another important game in the UEFA Europa League. On Thursday they will face LASK at Anfield Road, trying to get a win that will bring them closer to the round of 16 of the tournament.
