Barcelona could not hold on for long at the top of the La Liga standings. They had reached that place last weekend, when they beat Celta and took advantage of Real Madrid's defeat against Atlético Madrid. However, three days later they drew against Real Mallorca and were again overtaken by Los Merengues and Girona.

This Friday Los Blaugranas will have the opportunity, at least for a few hours, to become the only leaders of the tournament again. To do so, they will have to beat Sevilla at the Olympic Stadium Lluis Companys in Montjuic. But it will not be an easy task, as they will face a strong team, who won the UEFA Europa League 2022/23 and in the beginning of this season have improved over the weeks.

For this game, Xavi Hernandez decided to make some changes in the starting lineup compared to the game against Mallorca on Tuesday. The coach knows that next week they will have to travel to Portugal to face Porto in Champions League and that is why he will rest some players like Oriol Romeu and Ferran Torres.

Barcelona's XI will be: Marc-André Ter Stegen; Joao Cancelo, Jules Koundé, Andreas Christensen, Alejandro Balde; Gavi, Ilkay Gundogan, Raphinha; Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, Joao Felix. Substitutes will be Iñaki Peña, Ander Astralaga, Ronald Araujo, Marcos Alonso, Sergi Roberto, Iñigo Martinez, Fermin Lopez, Oriol Romeu and Ferrán Torres.

They also need to win

Sevilla had a bad start to the season, but in recent weeks they have raised their level and have gradually improved their position in the tournament. In their last game they played very well and defeated Almeria 5-1 at the Sanchez-Pizjuan stadium. To face Barcelona this Friday, coach José Luis Mendilibar chose this starting lineup: Orjan Nyland; Juanlu Sanchez, Loic Bade, Sergio Ramos, Adria Pedrosa; Joan Jordan, Djibril Sow, Lucas Ocampos, Ivan Rakitic, Erik Lamela; Dodi Lukebakio.
