Barcelona have only one goal this Saturday: to get a win against Valencia at the Mestalla stadium and end the consecutive losing streak. They lost a key game last Sunday against Girona, the table leaders, and are in a very complicated situation in La Liga, 7 points off the top.

And in the Champions League, although they qualified for the round of 16 and finished as group H leaders, they lost against Royal Antwerp on Wednesday. This caused a lot of criticism of the players for their poor performances, but especially of Xavi Hernandez. Many consider that the coach has made bad strategic decisions and blame him for the recent failures.

That is why this Saturday's game against Valencia is so important. If Los Blaugranas fail to win, their goal of competing for the La Liga title will be all but ruled out. For now, however, they are not getting the result they were hoping for. In fact, during the first half the 'Che' team showed a better performance and had some very dangerous chances, such as a shot by Roman Yaremchuk that goalkeeper Iñaki Peña saved with a great reaction.

In the last minutes Barcelona improved and had some chances to score. Pedri tried with a shot from outside the box that went over the crossbar, but the clearest chance came from Robert Lewandowski, who while face to face with goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, tried to shoot softly over his body, but failed to deceive him.

Coach is worried

It is clear that Xavi Hernandez is worried about Barcelona's poor results in recent weeks, and that was demonstrated after one of the chances missed by the team vs Valencia. The TV cameras captured the exact moment when he was lamenting, bowing his head in resignation.
