Jack Grealish joined Manchester City in the summer of 2021 for over $120 million. His great performances at Aston Villa sparked the interest of Pep Guardiola, who considered him an ideal player for his team. However, in his first season he did not perform at a high level and only scored three goals and provided three assists.

This began to change the following year when Raheem Sterling moved to Chelsea. From then on Grealish won his place in the XI and didn't come out anymore. Now, in an interview on City's official podcast, the winger revealed at what point he started to feel the full support of the manager.

"I came back from the World Cup and my first game was against Leeds and I should have scored at least two goals in the first half, and at half-time, I was dwelling on that. But in the second half, I made two assists for Erling (Haaland). A week later, I was on the bench at Chelsea, as me and Riyad (Mahrez) came on at the same time and I got another assist for his goal. After that, I just seemed to get some more goal involvements”, the 28-year-old began by explaining.

And then he revealed: "I felt I was playing well in myself, too, and the manager was picking me in the big games like for Arsenal in the FA Cup and Arsenal in the Premier League, Tottenham and so on. I was feeling the love off Pep, not because he'd said so, but because he was playing me in all those big games. Pep didn't say anything at all, but he picked me for the big games, and that said everything”.

Now he is an important player for the team

Jack Grealish has earned his place at Manchester City. Last season he helped the team win the Treble, the 3 most important tournaments (Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League) with 11 assists and 5 goals in 50 games.
