Florentino Perez has been Real Madrid's decision-maker for more than 20 years. He became president in 2000, had a break between 2006 and 2009, and has remained in office ever since. Although he has been the protagonist of controversial situations and his decisions have not always been pleasant for everyone, the results he has obtained are indisputable.

Under him, Los Merengues had great successes and managed to return to being one of the most important clubs in the world. During his tenure, they have won 7 Champions League and many La Liga titles, in addition to signing top-level stars, such as that well-remembered team called "Los Galácticos", which included Zinedine Zidane, Raúl, Figo, Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo and David Beckham.

That is why the rumors that circulated on social networks in the last few hours alarmed everyone in the Spanish capital. According to these rumors, Florentino had decided to leave the presidency of the club and was going to officially announce it at the next general assembly of members. His goal, they said, was to agree the arrival of Kylian Mbappé as the last achievement of his management.

On Saturday, the Spanish side published an official statement clarifying the situation: "Given some rumors that have appeared in some social networks stating that the president Florentino Perez is supposedly considering leaving the presidency of the club, Real Madrid C. F. wants to state that these rumors are categorically false and are due to some interests that have nothing to do with reality".

He still has time

The issue that has demanded the most attention from Florentino Pérez this summer is the signing of Kylian Mbappé. So far there has been no official offer from Real Madrid to PSG, but some believe that before September 1, the day the transfer window closes, Los Merengues will make an attempt to sign him.
