"I'm more of a Cristiano Ronaldo fan" said this Brazilian star before facing Messi

Brazil vs Argentina is probably the world's most important rivalry between teams. Both countries have had top stars in the last decades and have won many important titles. In fact, the Brazilians were world champions five times and the Argentines three times (the last one in Qatar 2022).

That is why every time they face each other, fans from all continents wait anxiously to enjoy the match and see their favorite players. This Tuesday they will play for the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, at the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro. It will be the second time Argentina return to Brazil after winning the Copa America final there in 2021.

As usual before each match, some players of Fernando Diniz's team held a press conference to answer questions from journalists. One of those who spoke was Endrick, the young Palmeiras striker who made his debut with the national team last Thursday in Colombia.

When asked about what it means for him to face Messi, he replied: "Messi is phenomenal, he is the best in the world today and to be able to play against him, to see him up close, will be a wonderful experience. I just want to enjoy the moment of playing against him, being in the same stadium, a person I've only seen in video games. But the truth is I'm more of a Cristiano Ronaldo fan."

It's a logical answer

Endrick is only 17 years old and for many he is the star of the future in Brazil. In fact, his great performances at Palmeiras aroused the interest of Real Madrid, who agreed to buy him several months ago. Once he turns 18, he will be able to join the Spanish side next summer. That is why it is not surprising that he has chosen Cristiano Ronaldo over Lionel Messi.
