Real Madrid are one of the most important clubs in the world. No other club has won as many European titles as they have: they have won the Champions League 14 times (5 of them in the last decade) and are 7 ahead of the closest, AC Milan. So it's only logical that most kids who start playing soccer dream of getting there one day.

However, not every player who fulfills that dream enjoys it in the end. Things don't always go as expected, and sometimes even success isn't enough. That's what happened with this Spanish midfielder who now, years after leaving La Casa Blanca, revealed details of his experience there.

He is Isco Alarcon. The Real Betis midfielder shone at Real Madrid for almost a decade, between 2013 and 2022, playing 353 games, scoring 53 goals and providing 55 assists. There he won 19 titles, including 5 Champions League titles. But now he admitted: "I should have left Real Madrid earlier".

In an interview with El Pelotazo, Isco said that his last few years with Los Merengues were not good, but that "leaving the best club in the world is not easy". And then he added: "When you have a bad season, they label you as finished. The media praise you, but they also tell you that you are finished or retired. These are labels that the media put on you, people echo.... There is a lot of pink press in soccer, a lot of clickbait, things that don't help footballers".

He is much better now

Isco left Real Madrid in 2022 and then had a short experience at Sevilla, where things didn't go well. But this season he arrived at Real Betis and little by little he is showing his best level again. On this he said, "I always had confidence in myself, that I wasn't finished and was the Isco of always. I just needed a little confidence and now I have it".
