In the 2022/23 season something historic happened in Italy: Napoli became Serie A champion again after 33 years. The club from the south of the country had to wait more than 3 decades to win the league title again, even though in previous years they had won 3 Coppa Italia (2012, 2014 and 2020) and one Supercoppa Italiana (2014).

Coach Luciano Spalletti was fundamental in winning the title, as well as several players who showed a high level throughout the year. Defender Min-Jae Kim, full-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo, Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski, winger Hirving Lozano and striker Victor Osimhen shone, but there was one player who made all the fans fall in love and was even compared to Diego Armando Maradona.

He is Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 22-year-old Georgian winger who arrived as an unknown in 2022 from his country's Dinamo Batumi and quickly became the team's star player. His 14 goals and 14 assists in 43 games are impressive numbers, but what is most appreciated about his game is the magic he showed on the pitch.

Now there are several teams in Europe that want to sign him. According to Sport newspaper, Newcastle is willing to pay $90 million for him, with the intention that he can join and help the team compete next season against the best sides in the Premier League and Champions League.

It won't be enough

Despite the fact that it is a lot of money that the English club could pay, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis will reject the offer. He has already announced that he has no intention of letting the player go, unless a "crazy offer" arrives. The same will happen with the other star of the squad, Victor Osimhen, for whom he is seeking $200 million.
