It is undeniable that Paul Pogba's career has had its positive moments. However, in recent years, the Frenchman's performance has considerably declined, and he no longer resembles the player he was during his prime years in his first spell with Juventus.
Despite this, Juventus gave him another chance to shine following his World Cup victory with France in 2018. However, not all news has been good for Pogba.
Under the guidance of Massimiliano Allegri, ‘La Vecchia Signora’ has had a rather average start to the season. With two victories and one draw, the team currently sits in third place in Serie A, trailing behind Inter Milan and AC Milan. As part of the standard protocol, all players from the teams are required to undergo doping tests, and Juventus was no exception.
According to Sport, on August 20th, Paul Pogba and the rest of the squad underwent a doping test before the match against Udinese, and the result came back positive for testosterone. Sport also reports that the Agenzia Ansa newspaper indicated that a second test needs to be confirmed, and if it also turns out positive, the midfielder may face a trial before the Italian National Anti-Doping Tribunal.
