Undoubtedly one of the most interesting matches of the weekend will be the one between Manchester City and Tottenham this Sunday at Etihad Stadium. Both teams have had a good start of the Premier League season and are in the top positions of the standings, so whoever gets the victory will get closer to leaders Arsenal.
The Citizens are in second place with 29 points, 4 points off the top. Spurs, who until recently were the leaders, are now in sixth place with 26 points. But if they win, they will catch up with their rivals and regain the place they lost.
Pep Guardiola's team had a good week, as last Tuesday they achieved an epic comeback against RB Leipzig 3-2 and secured the leadership in the Champions League Group G standings. Now that they have achieved that goal, they can devote all their energies to the Premier League and that is why the coach will include most of the stars in the starting lineup this Sunday.
Manchester City's XI will be: Ederson; Kyle Walker, Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol; Rodri; Bernardo Silva, Manuel Akanji, Phil Foden; Julian Alvarez, Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku. Also on the bench will be Stefan Ortega, Nathan Ake, Rico Lewis, John Stones, Jack Grealish, Kalvin Phillips, Sergio Gomez, Oscar Bobb and Mateo Kovacic.
Tottenham had been the big surprise of the tournament during the first few weeks. They were at the top of the standings, but lately things did not go well and they lost that place. In fact, they have three consecutive defeats. Coach Ange Postecoglou decided that the starting lineup will be: Guglielmo Vicario; Pedro Porro, Emerson, Ben Davies, Iyenoma Destiny Udogie; Yves Bissouma, Giovani Lo Celso, Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, Bryan Gil Salvatierra; Heung-Min Son. In addition, the substitutes are Brandon Austin, Fraser Forster, Alfie Dorrington, Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, Oliver Skipp, Richarlison, Yago Alonso, Jamie Donley and Alejo Veliz.
