This Tuesday the German National Team played a friendly match against France in Dortmund and got a 2-1 victory with goals from Leroy Sané and Thomas Müller, while Antoine Griezmann scored for Didier Deschamps' team. However, one of the situations that generated the most attention during the match was Ilkay Gündogan's injury.

After 24 minutes of the first half, the midfielder jumped to dispute the ball with Adrien Rabiot and fell with the full weight of his body on his back. He was instantly replaced and left the field in tears. This worried Barcelona, as the player suffered a serious injury in that area years ago and they feared it could happen again.

That is why this Wednesday, on his return to Spain, he underwent medical tests to know the details of the situation and analyze the steps to follow. And the results of the tests were good, since it was confirmed that he does not have any type of injury. The only sequel is just a hematoma as a consequence of the blow. During the next few days he will be evaluated by Barcelona's doctors, but they are sure that he will not have any problems.

In fact, he is even expected to be available for Saturday's match against Real Betis at the Montjuic stadium, for the fifth matchday of La Liga 2023/24. This is undoubtedly great news for coach Xavi Hernandez, who considers Gündogan a key player in his team. And now he needs him more than ever, as Pedri is injured and will not be able to play at the weekend.

Not the only good news

Besides Ilkay Gündogan and Pedri, the other Barcelona player who had physical problems is Ronald Araujo. The Uruguayan defender suffered a muscle injury after the first game of the season against Getafe in mid-August. He is now almost recovered and his return could be next week, in the Champions League debut against Royal Antwerp.
