Carlo Ancelotti is one of the most important coaches in the world. Throughout almost 30 years of career he has managed some of the biggest clubs in Europe and with most of them he has been champion: he won league titles with AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, as well as 4 Champions League titles.

His success in recent seasons at Los Merengues put him back under the spotlight and that made the Brazilian National Team, the one that has won the most World Cups in history (5), interested in him to lead the team until 2026. According to reports, his hiring is already agreed and he will start his path in South America after the end of the 2023/24 season.

That is why Real Madrid are already looking for a manager to replace him from next year. According to Sport newspaper, Florentino Perez's main favorite is Xabi Alonso. The former Spanish midfielder was a player of the team between 2009 and 2014. There he won a league title and a Champions League, precisely with Ancelotti as coach. He is now manager of Bayer Leverkusen, with whom he achieved a good performance last season in the Bundesliga and the UEFA Europa League.

In an interview with Marca newspaper, Xabi Alonso was asked about this possibility and replied: "Everything in its own time. Now I'm here, I'm very happy and what has to come in the future will be seen. Normally in soccer when you think in the medium to long term you lose focus of what you have closer and right now I only think about what we have here. What has to come will be seen at the end of the season".

Brazil are waiting for Ancelotti

The Italian coach has already agreed to his arrival at the South American team. He will begin his work in June 2024, weeks before the start of the Copa America to be played in the United States. Until then, Fernando Diniz will be in charge of the team.
