There is less than a month left until the close of the transfer window in Europe and Kylian Mbappé's situation is still unresolved. Paris Saint-Germain have already written him off and have made progress on the signings of Goncalo Ramos, Ousmane Dembélé and Randal Kolo Muani to replace him. But his departure is not confirmed, so he could stay a full year without playing, until he becomes a free agent on July 1, 2024.

Nobody doubts that 'Kiki's' next club will be Real Madrid. What is not clear is when his arrival will be agreed. Florentino Perez's plan was to sign him once his contract expires in France, to avoid negotiations with Nasser Al-Khelaifi and save the money of a transfer. However, things could change in the coming days.

According to Sport newspaper, Florentino Perez is preparing an offer of €200 million to sign Mbappé right now and end once and for all this conflict that started on June 13, when the player announced he would not renew his contract with PSG. That amount of money is close to Al-Khelaifi's pretensions, so it could be a solution that satisfies all parties.

But what is the Real Madrid president waiting for then? L'Equipe reports that Florentino will only make the offer to PSG official if the player publicly declares that his desire is to play for Real Madrid. This for now seems difficult, as Kylian has chosen to remain silent these past few months.

He does not have many alternatives

Mbappé's situation in Paris no longer has a way back. Al-Khelaifi is furious with his decision not to renew his contract and has imposed a punishment on him. Therefore, if he does not agree his departure to Real Madrid this summer, the striker is likely to be a whole year without being able to play official matches.
