When Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid to play for Juventus in 2018, the world was shocked. He had been the main star of Los Merengues for almost a decade and had competed every year with Lionel Messi to be the best player in the world. But he surprisingly decided to start a new stage in his professional career and chose the Italian giants to do so.

During his three seasons there, his performances were excellent: he scored 101 goals in 134 games and won 5 titles. But he could not fulfill the goal of leading the team to the Champions League title, something they have not achieved since 1996. That is why he finally left for Manchester United in 2021 and then for Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia.

However, some things remained unresolved after his time in Italy. Recently, unexpected details of a quarrel between the player and the club came to light. CR7's lawyers filed a lawsuit before the Italian courts against Juventus, claiming the payment of wages corresponding to his last season there. The total amount of the claim is almost $22 million.

But the Italian club's position is completely different. They acknowledge that they did not pay that money to Cristiano Ronaldo, but claim that this was what they agreed when in 2021 he decided to leave Italy to join Manchester United. The decision on who is right will be up to the judges, and they will announce it in April 2024.

What is he doing?

While his lawyers take care of this issue, Cristiano Ronaldo is focused on soccer. He wants to become the world's top scorer in 2023 and for that he must score two goals to catch Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé, and three to surpass them. The good news is that they no longer have official matches this year, while CR7 will play some more in the Saudi Arabian Pro League.
