Chelsea is working hard to secure the departure of forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is not part of coach Mauricio Pochettino's plans for the upcoming season.
The London club is seeking to secure a transfer that benefits the team economically, although they acknowledge that it will be a challenge. According to transfer specialist journalist Fabrizio Romano, Aubameyang's likely destination will be Saudi Arabia.
Currently, the 34-year-old player is in negotiations with Saudi clubs, but the green light has not yet been given to finalize his transfer. The next few days will be crucial in reaching an agreement and allowing Aubameyang to embark on a new adventure in the Middle East.
It is important to note that Aubameyang had also been mentioned as an option to reinforce Barcelona's attack, being considered a low-cost alternative in case the signing of Vitor Roque did not materialize. However, the Brazilian forward will ultimately join the Catalan club in a transfer worth 35 million EUR plus variables.
Barcelona was Aubameyang's only option to continue in Europe as it was the only club that had shown interest in his signing. Despite having a modest season at Chelsea, the player left good memories during his time at the club. It was considered that, with regular playing time, he could be an important asset. However, the priority was always Vitor Roque.
