This Wednesday Real Madrid got their fifth consecutive victory in Champions League. They beat Napoli 4-2 at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and secured the leadership in Group C, which will allow them to have a less difficult opponent in the round of 16 of the tournament.
One of the outstanding players of the Spanish side was Rodrygo Goes. He scored the team's first goal, just a minute after Giovanni Simeone's opener, with a beautiful right-footed shot that made it impossible for goalkeeper Alex Meret to react. The Brazilian forward had a great week, as on Sunday he had scored goals and provided an assist to Jude Bellingham in the 3-0 victory over Cadiz.
That is why he was one of the players chosen to talk to the press after the match against Napoli. The journalists asked him about the team's performance, his level in the last games and his expectations for the near future. But they also asked him about something that happened last week, during the international break.
During the match between Brazil and Argentina at the Maracana stadium in Rio de Janeiro, for the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, Rodrygo had an argument with Lionel Messi. The Argentine forward had decided that his team would go to the locker room while there were incidents between the fans and the police and, upon returning to the field, the Real Madrid player accused him of being a "coward", to which Leo replied: "Cowards? Why? We are world champions. You're a kid, you have to shut your mouth. Who are the cowards?"
This Wednesday Rodrygo was asked about that situation with Lionel Messi and his answer was strange: "I can't talk about that". Instantly another journalist asked him why and he repeated: "I can't talk about it". While it is unclear what happened, some believe that the Real Madrid player was advised not to talk about it.
