Since Cristiano Ronaldo agreed to join Saudi Arabia's Al-Nassr in December 2022, the world soccer map has changed. This summer many top players followed CR7's path and left Europe to join Pro League clubs that offered them multi-million dollar salaries. Neymar, Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kanté, Sadio Mané, Riyad Mahrez, Roberto Firmino, Jordan Henderson, Bono and Kalidou Koulibaly were among them.

However, the Saudis are still not satisfied and, according to reports, are prepared to spend even more money next year and add more stars. Mohamed Salah is the main target, as Al-Ittihad want to sign him to form a fearsome attacking duo alongside Benzema.

And a Barcelona player could follow suit. According to Sport newspaper, Ansu Fati was targeted by Saudi Arabian clubs and there have even been conversations to let him know that they are interested in him and to know his opinion. He does not consider it an ideal option, but some people close to him do believe it would be a good decision.

The Spanish forward was loaned this summer to Brighton & Hove Albion for one season and so far has played 10 games in England and scored one goal. Barcelona's intention is that in the Premier League he recovers his best level and revalues himself, as he is one of the most promising players of the club. That is why they signed him an important contract until 2027 with an exit clause of $1 billion.

He has not yet lived up to expectations

Ansu Fati was one of the players who received the nickname 'new Messi' when he appeared at Barcelona, something similar to what happened with Bojan Krkic and now Lamine Yamal. However, the Spanish winger was never able to show satisfactory performances and therefore gradually lost his place in the team. His departure to England was an attempt to recover his best level, but so far it is not working.
