This summer Al-Hilal achieved one of the most important signings in the world of soccer. They paid over $100 million to Paris Saint-Germain to take Neymar, who was offered a multi-million dollar contract that put him among the highest paid players on the planet.

However, the start of his experience in Saudi Arabia has not been good. So far he has played three games for his new club, has not scored goals and only provided one assist. In addition, the results have not been satisfactory either: although in their Pro League debut they beat Al-Riyadh 6-1, they then drew 1-1 against Navabahor Namangan of Uzbekistan in the Asian Champions League and 1-1 against Damac.

In this context, Ney's alleged plan to leave Al-Hilal earlier than expected has now been revealed. Brazilian journalist Ademir Quintino said: "Neymar approached Santos and asked to return. I have friends in common with Neymar, whom I will not name, but he has a very strong desire to return to Santos."

And then he added: "I received the information that they did not sign a four-year contract with the Saudis but a one-year contract so he could return to Santos a year before the World Cup, as Robinho did in 2010". If what Quintino said is true, Neymar would stay at Al-Hilal until the end of the 2024/25 season and then return to Brazil to play for Santos for a year and get in physical and sporting shape to fulfill his dream of winning the World Cup with the National Team.

They love him there

Although Neymar has received harsh criticism in Brazil after the failure at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, in Santos he is fondly remembered. There he played between 2009 and 2013 225 games, scored 136 goals and provided 69 assists. He also won 6 titles, including the Copa Libertadores in 2011.
