The speculations about Mohamed Salah's future seem to be over. For weeks now, the media and social networks have been flooded day by day with news and rumors about the Egyptian winger, who was targeted by Al-Ittihad to become the latest star signing of this transfer window.

The Pro League side believe they need a top level forward to partner Karim Benzema in the team's attack, as they are not satisfied with the performances of Jota, the Portuguese player who arrived this summer from Celtic. That is why they made more than one offer to Liverpool to sign Salah.

After receiving a couple of negative responses from the English chiefs, this week Al-Ittihad sent representatives to Liverpool to negotiate and made a new offer: $270 million to take the forward right now. This would make him the most expensive signing in soccer history, surpassing Neymar, who in 2017 moved from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain for nearly $240 million.

However, the Reds made a final decision: they rejected the Saudi club's impressive offer. This means, in a way, that they consider Mohamed Salah non-transferable and are not willing to let the Egyptian player go during this transfer window, no matter how much money they offer for him or how much they insist during the next few days.

The coach needs him

Jurgen Klopp is surely one of the most relieved with Liverpool's decision. The coach considers Mohamed Salah a key player for his team and his departure would have been a huge blow for him. The forward arrived at the English side in 2017, when Klopp was already manager, and quickly became the team's main star. Since then he has scored 188 goals and provided 77 assists, being instrumental in the 2018/19 Champions League and 2019/20 Premier League titles.
