Ilkay Gündogan, the German midfielder currently focused on the German National Team, is determined to settle his future in the coming days. Gündogan intends to know which club he will play for next season before the end of the week, and he currently has four offers on the table, including one from his current club, Manchester City.
In addition to Manchester City's proposal, Barcelona, Arsenal, and a Saudi Arabian club have also presented offers to the talented midfielder. Gündogan must make a definitive decision about his future, although the English club is not making things easy. According to reports from AS, Manchester City has improved its offer, now guaranteeing the second year of the contract they have offered the player for renewal.
Manchester City's interest has increased as Gündogan's performance has grown, as well as the eagerness of Barcelona and coach Xavi Hernández to sign him.
City added an optional second season to their initial offer of a single year, maintaining virtually the same salary, and it is now reported that the second season would be guaranteed if the German player decides to accept the proposal.
In light of this situation, some unease has arisen at Barcelona, although they still trust the word that Gündogan gave to Xavi Hernández regarding the three-season offer that the Blaugrana have presented to him, in addition to the salary increase.
