The last game Jadon Sancho played for Manchester United was on August 26, in the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford. Eight days later, Erik Ten Hag decided not to call him up for the match against Arsenal and then, at the press conference, claimed that this was due to the forward's performances in training.
Moments later Sancho posted a message on social media accusing Ten Hag of lying and saying that he was being used as a 'scapegoat'. This forced the club's chiefs to punish the player, sideline him from the squad and send him to train with United's academy. Almost two months have passed since then and the situation has not changed.
That is why there are rumors of a possible departure of Jadon to another club in the January transfer window. Borussia Dortmund, the club where he shone between 2017 and 2021, is one of the options. And Juventus are also interested in adding him, especially if they reduce the amount of wages of the squad after terminating the contract with Paul Pogba because of the doping case.
According to Sport newspaper, they are joined by another European giant: Barcelona. The Catalan side appreciate the forward's quality and may make an attempt to sign him in January or next summer. However, the serious financial problems they have been facing for years will prevent them from offering much money for him.
The conflict between Jadon Sancho and Erik Ten Hag and the subsequent punishment will have inevitable consequences for Manchester United. In 2021 they paid almost $90 million for him and the longer he remains punished and off the field, his value will be less and less. That's why they have to make a decision: sell him for a low price right now and avoid paying his high salary (almost $20 million per year) or loan him to another club as soon as possible.
