Since last week Liverpool fans have been worried about the future of Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian player has been the biggest star of the team for years and has been targeted by Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia, who want to sign another top level forward to accompany Karim Benzema, as they consider that the Portuguese Jota has not lived up to expectations.

A few days ago Jurgen Klopp was consulted in a press conference on this issue and assured that the winger is "100% committed" to the team, and that the club had no intentions of letting him leave this summer. However, he also expressed his concern about offers from Saudi Arabia, as the transfer window there closes only on September 20 and not September 1, as in Europe.

And now, after several days of rumors and speculation, the bid from Al-Ittihad has finally arrived. According to The Athletic, the Pro League side made a verbal offer to Liverpool to buy Salah. The figure is impressive: $126 million in immediate payment plus bonuses if certain targets are met in the future. The total amount of the offer was almost $190 million.

However, the English newspaper claims that the Liverpool chiefs did not even consider the bid and rejected it immediately. This coincides with Klopp's words last week and seems to be an unchangeable decision. But they may very well regret it in the future.

It’s not over yet

Liverpool's rejection of Al-Ittihad's bid involves risk. With almost 20 days difference between the close of the transfer window in Europe and Saudi Arabia, it could happen that Salah finally decides to leave and The Reds will no longer have a chance to sign another forward who can replace him.
