Arsenal are in a great moment. After more than a decade in which they could not compete with the best teams in England and Europe, as they had done in the 2000s with Arsene Wenger as coach, they are now back. In the previous season they were close to winning the Premier League title, but in the end Manchester City overcame them. However, they took revenge and beat them in the Community Shield.

Now they have had a great start in the Premier League 2023/24 and are leading the standings along with Tottenham. But still the fans are not 100% satisfied and dream of the arrival of top players to help raise the team's level even higher. That is why they were excited about the possible signing of Bruno Guimaraes.

The 25-year-old Brazilian midfielder is one of the stars of Newcastle. He arrived there in 2022 from Olympique Lyonnais and has since played 68 games and scored 11 goals. He has also earned a place in the Brazilian National Team, with which he played two games at the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Guimaraes was a key player for The Magpies last season, in which they had a great performance in the Premier League and finished fourth in the standings, achieving a historic qualification to the Champions League. The midfielder's high level made many important clubs interested in him, but Newcastle were cautious and recently renewed his contract for five more years and included a $120 million exit clause.

A hint?

The Gunners beat Manchester City on Sunday with a goal from Gabriel Martinelli. The winger then posted a photo on his Instagram account celebrating the win and Guimaraes, a teammate of his in Brazil, commented "Martishow." This caught the attention of Arsenal fans, who also commented things like, “We're triggering that release clause brother sit tight.”
