Chelsea is aiming to sign goalkeeper André Onana from Inter Milan in the upcoming transfer window. Although incoming coach Mauricio Pochettino is not yet at the club, there have been speculations about his plans to strengthen the team in specific areas.
It is reported that Pochettino has on his agenda the improvement of the goalkeeper position, midfield, and the acquisition of a new forward. In this context, André Onana has been linked with a possible move to Stamford Bridge in the coming months.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper has been valued at around 40 million EUR and still has four years left on his contract with Inter, which he joined last year. According to a recent report, the Blues have a keen interest in signing Onana and believe his addition would significantly strengthen the team's goalkeeping department.
While Onana has expressed his happiness playing at Inter Milan, he has also stated that he will respect any decision the club makes about his future, whether it is staying for the remaining duration of his contract or leaving the club in this transfer window.
Chelsea, being one of the world's biggest clubs, constantly seeks to have the best available players in every position. Goalkeeping is an area they consider can be improved, and the arrival of Onana could be a solution to bolster that position.
