Gianluca Scamacca had scored the opener for the visitors.

This Tuesday in London one of the most interesting matches of the October international break is being played. At Wembley Stadium the England National Team are facing Italy for the Euro 2024 qualifiers. It is a key match for both teams, as the hosts can secure their place in the most important international tournament on the continent, while the visitors are competing with Ukraine for the second place in the standings.

In the beginning of the match Italy were better and netted the opener through Gianluca Scamacca. After 15 minutes, Domenico Berardi gave a pass to Giovanni Di Lorenzo on the right side of the field, the full-back sent a drilled cross and into the box appeared the Atalanta striker to score his first goal for the national team.

From then on England, with the obligation to find the equaliser, became masters of the ball and the field. And it took them just 15 minutes to score the goal, thanks to their two biggest stars: Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane. The Bayern Munich striker received the ball outside the box, waited for the Real Madrid midfielder and passed it to him. Bellingham entered the box and Di Lorenzo fouled him. Referee Turpin gave a penalty and Kane scored with a strong right foot shot.

In the following minutes both teams created dangerous chances. Marcus Rashford failed to beat Gianluigi Donnarumma, while Jordan Pickford saved a shot from Destiny Udogie in the last minute of the first half.

They are in trouble

The 1-1 draw was not satisfying for either team, as Ukraine are coming off a 2-1 win over Malta. With that result, they are second in the standings with 13 points, just one behind England. And Italy are in third place, for now out of the Euro 2024 qualification zone.
