Atlético Madrid beat Osasuna 2-0 in Pamplona on Thursday. This victory allowed them to move closer to the top of the La Liga standings: they are now in fifth place with 13 points, 7 behind leaders Barcelona, 6 behind Girona and 5 behind Real Madrid. But Los Colchoneros have played a game less, so they could further reduce that gap.

The opener against Osasuna was scored by Antoine Griezmann. The French striker captured a rebound inside the box and with a strong left-footed shot beat the resistance of the opposing goalkeeper 20 minutes into the first half.

He has had a good start to the 2023/24 season, being a key player for coach Diego Simeone and scoring 3 goals in 6 games. His performances are getting better and better and he is recovering the level he had some years ago, when he was shining in the Madrid side and in the French National Team and was transferred to Barcelona.

After the match against Osasuna, Griezmann gave an interview in which he surprised everyone by revealing his secret weapon for playing better and better. When asked about his level, he replied: "I've signed myself on Fantasy, so that's given me a boost". The French player is referring to the Fantasy Football video game, in which users can choose a team and make decisions such as signing players.

What else did he say?

In addition, Antoine Griezmann analyzed the victory against Osasuna and said, “It was important to come here to win after the derby. We have to work, keep improving, maybe have more pause with the ball. We are improving”. He then spoke about the next challenge, which will be against Cadiz: "We have to win the matches. It's going to be complicated like today, we have another match on Sunday, it comes quickly and we have to rest, we're playing at home".
