Harry Kane's curse: Bayern Munich mourn, Tottenham celebrate

The striker can't believe what happened in Germany.

The striker can't believe what happened in Germany.

Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in the world. For 10 years he shone in the Premier League with Tottenham and became a star of the English National Team, with which he played the World Cups of Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022. For this reason Bayern Munich decided to pay a fortune this summer to sign him: more than $100 million, the most expensive purchase in the history of the Bundesliga.

And his performances have been very good. In the German league, he scored 12 goals in his first nine games, helping his team to second place in the standings, just two points behind Bayer Leverkusen. And in the Champions League he netted two goals in three games. However, it's not all positive.

Harry Kane has a strange record. Despite being one of the best players in the world and one of the strikers with the most goals, he has never won a title in his professional career. That was, in fact, one of the reasons he left Tottenham and joined Bayern Munich, as the German side are usually champions at least once a season.

But so far things have not gone well. Harry's first game was the German Super Cup final. There the Bavarian side had a chance to win a title, but lost 3-0 against RB Leipzig. And this Wednesday they suffered another hard blow: they were eliminated in the second round of the German Cup after losing 3-1 against Saarbrücken, a third division club. While Kane was a substitute and did not come on, other stars such as Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman and Jamal Musiala played.

Spurs do not miss him

Unexpectedly, Tottenham now seem to have a better chance than Bayern Munich of winning a title this season. Ange Postecoglou's team have had a great start to the season and are the sole Premier League leaders. In addition, they are also competing in the FA Cup.
