Romelu Lukaku's future has finally been decided. The striker had been in a very uncomfortable situation all summer: after finishing his loan at Inter, he returned to England to join Chelsea's training, but the club decided that he will not be part of Mauricio Pochettino's squad and since then he was working alone, while waiting for a solution.

The English side paid more than $120 million for him in 2021, but his performances in the Premier League were not up to expectations and soon after he was loaned to Inter. There he played during the last season and, although he improved his level, he had many physical problems that prevented him from earning a place in the team. Now the Italian side, as well as Juventus, had expressed their interest in signing him, but the Blues wanted a lot of money for his sale.

As the weeks went by, seeing that no offers to buy him were coming in and the transfer window was getting closer and closer, Chelsea changed their mind and agreed to negotiate a new loan. And there came AS Roma, driven by Jose Mourinho's desire to have Lukaku back, after managing him at Manchester United.

After a few days of negotiations, the parties reached an agreement and the Belgian forward will play in Serie A. This was confirmed by himself in an interview with HLN. "I am nervous. Tomorrow (this Sunday) I will fly to Rome to sign", he said.

They want to win titles

AS Roma have signed top players this summer. In addition to Romelu Lukaku, the Italian side added defenders Evan Ndicka and Rasmus Kristensen, midfielders Leandro Paredes, Renato Sanchez and Houssem Aouar and striker Sardar Azmoun. They, together with stars already in the squad such as Paulo Dybala, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Chris Smalling and Andrea Belotti, have the fans excited about a new title, like the Conference League they won in 2022.
