Not in the plans for the next season and departs from the team

Mauricio Pochettino has been announced as the new head coach of Chelsea for the upcoming season. He will lead the English team for two years. Although Pochettino will officially begin his role on July 1st, the Argentine coach is already analyzing what the next season will entail.

Chelsea had a disastrous season, finishing 12th in the overall standings, which resulted in their exclusion from European competitions for the following season. They were also eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

In light of these circumstances, Chelsea will undergo a restructuring process to change the team's fortunes and regain their status as contenders in both the Premier League and European competitions. This restructuring process has already begun with the appointment of Pochettino, and undoubtedly, more changes are to come.

The Chelsea board has made the decision to part ways with one player, namely Denis Zakaria. Since joining the English club, Zakaria has not made a significant impact, as he was never part of the plans of previous coaches Tomas Tuchel or Graham Potter. Now, he also does not fit into Pochettino's plans.

Zakaria joined Chelsea on the last day of the transfer window on a loan deal from Juventus. He has only played 525 minutes across 10 matches. As a result, Chelsea will not exercise the option to buy him for 28 million EUR.
