Enzo Fernández, the young Argentine midfielder, is seeking a fresh start at Chelsea after a disappointing first half of the season in England. Despite receiving praise from fans, the London team struggled to find their way and finished in 12th position in the Premier League, outside of the European competition spots.
With the arrival of Mauricio Pochettino as the Chelsea manager, a recovery is expected for the team. In this context, Enzo's father, Raúl Fernández, revealed that his son intends to speak with the Argentine coach to discuss adjusting his position on the field.
Under the guidance of Graham Potter and Frank Lampard, Enzo played in a deeper midfield position, and although he left a good impression, he has yet to score his first goal for the Blues. However, his ambitions go beyond scoring goals – he wants to be a champion. As a first step towards that goal, he plans to propose to Pochettino the possibility of playing in a more advanced position.
"Enzo is comfortable, happy, and adapting to London," said Raúl Fernández to the fan portal The Chelsea Spot. He added, "He is excited about Pochettino's arrival. My son wants to be a champion. He has the idea of talking to him to see if he can play in a more advanced role."
According to speculations in London, Enzo could play in a more advanced midfield role, focused on playmaking and with fewer defensive responsibilities as a holding midfielder.
