The Argentine coach starred in a strange situation during a press conference.

This Friday Chelsea won their first game in the Premier League 2023/24. It was 3-0 against Luton Town at Stamford Bridge, on a night when everything went perfectly. The team played with confidence, the players showed the level expected of them and dominated their opponents from start to finish. This undoubtedly reassured the fans and, above all, the coach.

Mauricio Pochettino arrived at the London side this summer and, after having made an almost total renovation of the squad, he needed the results to start being positive. After the match he gave a press conference in which he analyzed what happened and said: "The way that we want to play is to create a team that can challenge the big teams. It's the way we love to work and very pleased because the performance was very solid and that is only the first step so far in the way we want to play."

However, a strange situation happened during the conference that surprised everyone. A journalist asked a question that left Pochettino completely confused: "I just want to ask about two players who disappeared, Malang Sarr, who was on a loan last season, and what happened to Jaime Cumming, who played the first game?"

As he listened to the question, Pochettino made a gesture of first surprise and then confusion, and asked "who?" And then replied: "I don't know why you surprise me. It's like you punch, we were talking about Luton. After I will explain, I wasn't prepared for this".

He has other things on his mind

The Chelsea manager is surely focused on his team's upcoming matches. On Saturday, September 2, the Blues will play again at Stamford Bridge, this time against Nottingham Forest, before the international break.
