Xavi will stay at Barcelona for longer

Barcelona is close to finalizing the contract renewal of Xavi Hernandez, according to recent reports. After a successful season in which the club won LaLiga and the Spanish Super Cup, Barcelona's executives have decided to offer a vote of confidence to the Catalan coach and extend his contract to maintain continuity in the project.

Negotiations between both parties have been smooth, as both the club and Xavi have the intention to continue working together. However, the obstacle has been complying with Financial Fair Play regulations and choosing the right moment to announce the details of the renewal, which is already fully agreed upon pending official announcement.

According to 'RAC1', the agreement for Xavi Hernandez's renewal at Camp Nou is practically closed. He will sign a two-year contract extension until June 30, 2026, and will receive a substantial salary improvement. Xavi's annual salary will double, going from 4 million EUR to 8 million EUR.

Furthermore, the conditions for the coaching staff will also be improved. Their salaries will increase from 1.5 million EUR to 4 million EUR, representing a significant raise. The club hopes that this improvement will not have a negative impact on Financial Fair Play, and therefore, they will wait for the right moment to make the agreement public.

<br/>Financial problems persist

It is no secret that Barcelona is facing economic difficulties. Although a viability plan has been approved, the club needs to significantly reduce its wage bill through salary savings and player sales, something that is currently on hold.
