Xavi wants to keep winning titles with Barcelona

Barcelona has a clear mission for the 2023/24 season, to compete again in the Champions League. The past few years have been marked by disappointments for the Blaugrana, with two consecutive group stage exits and having to settle for the Europa League, a competition in which the team has failed to shine.

To meet this challenge, coach Xavi Hernández has requested key reinforcements for the team, but he understands that the most important addition is a top-quality defensive midfielder who can be the successor to Sergio Busquets, who decided to end his career at Barcelona this summer.

If the club manages to sign Martín Zubimendi or Joshua Kimmich, Xavi promises that the team will be capable of competing and reaching the later stages of the Champions League, as well as fighting to repeat the LaLiga title they have already won this season.

However, both players represent a challenging task. In Zubimendi's case, he has made it clear on several occasions that he wants to stay at Real Sociedad and does not consider his departure in the near future. Additionally, he has a release clause of 60 million EUR, a figure that is difficult for Barcelona to afford at the moment.

The situation with Kimmich is similar. Bayern Munich has made it clear that the player is not for sale and has openly criticized Barcelona for showing interest in him, knowing well that they won't let him leave. Furthermore, the player himself has expressed his desire to continue succeeding in Germany, ruling out a transfer to Barcelona.
