Real Madrid is closing in on the signing of Jude Bellingham, as reported by The Athletic over the weekend. The Spanish club has been in negotiations with Borussia Dortmund and has managed to outpace other suitors, including Manchester City.

Jude Bellingham has emerged as one of the most coveted midfielders in Europe, and several of the continent's biggest clubs have been closely monitoring his situation in Germany in order to secure the player's services.

While many showed concrete interest in him, few made offers or provided financial details to Dortmund or Bellingham himself in terms of transfer fee or salary. In April, Liverpool withdrew from the race, considering the numbers to be too high.

Everything indicates that Bellingham is ready to join Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, where he will meet a generation of young talents in midfield that the club has been accumulating in recent years, such as Eduardo Camavinga or Aurelien Tchouameni. Additionally, it is expected that veterans Luka Modric and Toni Kroos will sign contract extensions with Madrid.

It is estimated that Real Madrid will pay Borussia Dortmund over 131 million EUR as a fixed fee, in addition to another 31 million EUR in variables. This transfer will become one of the most expensive in the history of both clubs. Although the agreement is not yet signed, Bellingham is expected to undergo a medical examination in the coming days to complete his move to Real Madrid.
